Bloggers for Positive Global Change

Bloggers for a positive global change award memeWe at the new and improved Climate of Our Future (COOF) believe in blogging with a purpose. Our particular mission is no small task — changing the world we live in for the better — but we take great comfort in the fact that we’re not struggling alone to achieve this.

There are a wide range of bloggers on the Web who, like Atlas from mythology, have taken the weight of the world upon their shoulders and are trying to build awareness among their readership in order to create a more sustainable and enlightened future.

Many like us, but not all, write about the threat of global climate change and ways to reduce our carbon emissions. Others take on various other social and political causes that have to be tackled if humanity is ever going to preserve, persevere and progress. None of us have all the answers, but taken together we form a collective consciousness and wisdom that will help move our world in a positive direction.

We are creating an award meme to salute these efforts. This award goes out to all of the Bloggers for Positive Global Change. It’s not limited to any specific ideologies, religions or philosophies. It puts a premium on human compassion and the desire to make the world a better place for all of us, without exception.

We’ll get the process started by naming 5 all star blogs that we read, enjoy and benefit from. The rules of the meme appear at the end of the post. Simply, if you’d like to be included among our little group of aspiring world changers, proudly display the badge and spread the love. There are many other bloggers out there we’d like to acknowledge, but we want to ensure that the future meme participants have ample names to honor.

  • The Alien Next Door — This is a blog that is bringing about positive Global Changes. Here is how Nina describes herself:

When I grew up, I became a scientist AND a story teller; either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your point of view of these two.”

In my view there isn’t much story telling going on in her blog. This article for instance, “Biomimicry: Nature’s Alternative to Genetically Engineered Foods”. teaches us about sustainability agriculture.

  • A New Green Earth — A lovely site with artwork the artist describes as:

The paintings I produce are about listening to ‘The Spirit.’ At different times themes emerge which I feel drawn to develop but always my work is about discovering this power and listening to its promptings.

Listening to the spirit is essential in making positive Global Changes.

  • The Accidental Environmentalist — This site is best described by its author:

I got the Idea for a green blog after I subscribed to Ideal Bites. I thought to myself. Hey, being green doesn’t mean I have to be all serious and eat crunchy granola. I think that’s what scares most people away… They see the enormity of the problem and think they have to make drastic lifestyle changes. I am here to say… do couple of things that doesn’t inconvenience you but helps out the planet. If we all approach with this attitude; even small changes can make a huge difference

This is exactly what making postive Global Changes is all about.

  • Global Warming Awareness 2007 — A chemist who created a site to educate others about Global Warming.

“Science and technology has always been one of my passions. All the science world has always brought an interest to learn more. And one thing that was brought to my attention is the GlobalWarming Awareness2007 movement”

Educating others about the climate change is bringing postitive Global Changes.

  • Lets Meet Where The Continents Meet — This blog was created by a man named Merkal. I had the pleasure of meeting Merkal when he asked to do an interview of me on Peopleized. When I learned his blog was “Everything about Istanbul, The Meeting of Two Continents, Its importance on World Peace, Night Life, History” I wanted to interview him. World peace and the meeting of continents is exactly what positive Global Change is all about.

Meme Rules

It’s easy to participate in this meme. At minimum, you can proudly display the BPGC badge (it’s available in two varieties: Transparent GIF and JPEG with white background) on your blog and bask in the glow of our collective good will. If you are sharing the kudos, however, please make sure you pass this list of rules to the blogs you are tagging.

The participation rules are simple:

1. When you get tagged, write a post with links to up to 5 blogs that you think are trying to change the world in a positive way.
2. In your post, make sure you link back to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.
3. Leave a comment or message for the bloggers you’re tagging, so they know they’re now part of the meme.
4. Optional: Proudly display the “Bloggers For Positive Global Change” award badge with a link to the post that you write up.
