Well, bravo on a great article, Again! But, technically, there IS something we could ALL do to end our dependancy on this type of fertilizer. We could create a universal law of have everyone sort all of their organic garbage into backyard compsting machines or be put in a special garbage pickup, like the recyclibles pick-ups, to move it to vast composting farms where convicts could process this cirty job to make fully 'cooked' compost to replace synthetic nitrogen ffertilizer. tilizer. We may HAVE to do this option eventually, due to the fact that aLL of our garbage landfills are overflowing now, and due to the 'NIMBY' (Not In My Back Yard1) factor, we cannot make new landfills, sototal recycling is the only way left to go! But it would be a DRAG, very laborous and time-consuming, but it , total recycling of ALL of trash, down to its organic omponents, might actually save the Earth's ecosystems.
